Sleep rituals for better sleep

Sleep is so important for our physical and mental health. Your evening routine can signal to your body it’s time to slow down and prepare you for a good nights sleep.

I’ve found a few ways over the years that really help. First is dimming the lights, turning off whatever I don’t need and using the soft glow of salt lamps (which also support our respiratory system).

A candle lit bath with magnesium or Epsom salts and essential oils helps soothe tired achy muscles, reduces imflammation, calms the nervous system & promotes a good nights sleep.

Adding some essential oils like lavender, Cedarwood, Wild Orange and Douglas Fir to a diffuser can also help to create a calm sleep environment. Our sense of smell is directly linked with our nervous system & pure natural essential oil aromas have the ability to calm us very quickly.

A linen / room mist is another quick and easy way to bring some zen into your bedtime routine & signals to your brain it’s time to wind down. Florals like lavender & rose, or trees like cedarwood or Siberian fir work wonders.

Using a sleep blend of essential oils such as ‘sweet dreams’, rolled onto your wrists, behind your ears, back of neck and over your heart can bring a sense of peace with the deep wood scents as you prepare to transition into sweet sleep.

A cup of warm organic camomile tea is another wonderful addition to promote calmness within.

See which ones help you, maybe it’s a few if you’ve had a really full on day and that’s ok. Find what works best for you & sleep well 😴
