Apple Crumble

INGREDIENTS

CRUMBLE

• 80g (¾ cup) Walnuts

• 80g (½ cup) Unsalted Macadamia nuts

• 80g (½ cup) Raw Unsalted Cashews

• 80g (¾ cup) Organic Rolled Oats

• 30g (2 Tbsp) Organic Coconut Oil

• 20g (2 Tbsp) Brown Sugar

• 10g (1 Tbsp) Cinnamon

STEWED APPLE

• 660g (5) Large Red Apples

• 160g (⅔ cup) Filtered Water

• 1 tsp Cinnamon


DIRECTIONS

Traditional
Roughly chop the nuts. Place the chopped nuts into a large bowl and add the remaining ingredients. Stir until combined. Set aside.

Wash, core and cut the apples into 2cm pieces.

Add the apples, water and cinnamon to a medium saucepan and stir together. Cover and cook on a medium heat for 10 MIN. Once cooked, strain off the excess liquid.

Thermomix
Add all the crumble ingredients to the TM bowl and mix for 10 SEC / SP 4. Empty into a bowl and set aside. Clean and dry the TM bowl.

Wash, core and cut the apples into 2cm pieces.

Add the cubed apple pieces, water and cinnamon to the TM bowl and cook 7 MIN / 80˚C / SP 1. Once cooked, drain off the liquid.

Add the stewed apple to a large baking dish and press gently to create an even layer. Top with the crumble mixture. Gently press the crumble mixture on top of the stewed apples.

Bake in the oven at 180°C for 15 MIN. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

NOTES

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Then re-heat in the oven.

For a Gluten Free optional, use coconut flakes instead of rolled oats.
